Write a newsletter (Intermediate level)
As an educator you could be required to design a newsletter for your fund raising efforts / the Science Club or perhaps a monthly school newsletter reporting on sports scores, house points, merit achievements, the Big Walk, etc. This newsletter will be distributed to the whole school – so it will need to be professional and well-designed. You would use Microsoft Word to create this newsletter.
By the end of this task you could achieve the following outcomes:
- Choose a template for your newsletter
- Add or remove columns
- Select colour and font schemes
- Use the text flow styles
- Insert new text boxes
- Edit graphics
- Group objects you want to keep together
Create your own newsletter – one which you will find useful. Alternatively, follow this example. To do so you would typically work through the following steps:
1. | Start Microsoft Word. See how » |
2. | Choose a newsletter template: You will want to consider your target audience when you do this – are they parents or learners? See how » |
